School Bus Home is an arrival-awareness convenience, not a security system, alarm, childcare, supervision, or life-safety service. It checks your Ring camera or doorbell for a school bus during the time windows you define, and gives a heads-up when no school bus has been detected by a time you choose in your after-school window. The optional morning window only reports what the camera saw — "a school bus was seen at 07:42" — and never sends a heads-up, because a morning with no detection tells you nothing. Detection is best-effort: the app classifies up to three still images per check and looks only for a US yellow school bus (a vehicle type) — it does not recognize or identify any person, and a bus may arrive or stop out of the camera's view and be missed. A morning sighting says only that a school bus was seen at your door at that time; it does not tell you where anyone is or what anyone did. School Bus Home cannot prevent any event and must not be relied upon to supervise anyone or to confirm any person's presence, safety, or wellbeing.
Notifications depend on third parties (Ring's motion events and image availability, your camera's placement, recording plan, and connectivity, your network, and Apple/Google push and email delivery) that may delay, drop, or fail to deliver them. A school bus may arrive without an alert reaching you, and an alert may arrive a minute or two late. Do not treat any notification — or the absence of one — as confirmation that a specific person is or is not home.
